The Amalgamated APC Support Groups have reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, pledging to work towards the realization of the 2027 mandate as they paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, in Asaba on Thursday.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, the National Secretary/Director of Administration of the group, Dr. Eya Ogli-O, said the visit was part of ongoing consultations and mobilization ahead of future elections.
According to her, the group, which was formed following an adoption agreement dated 22nd October 2002, has consistently worked over the years to ensure that candidates on the platform of the APC either emerge unopposed or are well-positioned to clinch their respective seats.
“All we have done over these years is to ensure that all aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are either returned unopposed or are properly supported to make it to their aspired seats,” she said.
Dr. Ogli-O described the meeting with the Chief Adviser as warm and encouraging, noting that the reception they received reflected the political atmosphere in Delta State.
“It was a very hospitable meeting. He was very warm, and I believe that already tells the atmosphere in Delta State. We are just going to glide, because he has given us a taste of what Delta State is about to experience, especially in terms of renewal and more,” she stated.
Expressing optimism about the future, she said the 2027 elections would be largely determined by performance, adding that the current administration has laid a solid foundation.
“2027 is going to be a one-point thing because the Governor of Delta State has worked. The works are there. We don’t have to start enumerating them,” she added.
In his response during the meeting, Senator Ighoyota Amori thanked the group for the visit and their continued support, assuring them that the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is committed to inclusive governance.
He emphasized that the government remains open to ideas and collaborations that will advance the M.O.R.E Agenda, noting that every genuine support and contribution is welcome in the collective effort to move Delta State forward.
The group thereafter presented to the Chief Adviser, an Award of Excellence, in Acknowledgement of his Distinguished Contributions towards the Social Economic and Political Advancement of Delta State.
The visit is part of ongoing political engagements and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections in Delta State.
