Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy is set to take centre stage in Paris as he performs during the halftime break of the historic NFL game between the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The highly anticipated performance will take place at the Stade de France, marking the NFL’s first game in France and giving Burna Boy another major opportunity to showcase African music on a global platform.

The Grammy-winning singer, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, is returning to the iconic Paris venue about 18 months after making history there in April 2025 as the first African artiste to headline a performance that attracted more than 80,000 fans.

Reflecting on his return, Burna Boy expressed excitement about performing again at the Stade de France.

“Paris gave me one of the biggest nights of my career, and to walk back into Stade de France for a moment like this means everything,” he said.

He added that the NFL’s arrival in France represents a significant moment and that he was proud to represent African music on such a global stage.

“The NFL is bringing something to France that has never happened here before, and I get to stand in the middle of it representing African music, and I intend to give the people a show they will not forget,” Burna Boy said.

An NFL official also praised the choice of the Nigerian superstar, saying the first NFL game in France deserved a halftime performance that matched the significance of the occasion.

Burna Boy’s appearance is expected to add an African musical dimension to what promises to be a landmark sporting event in Paris.
